How are we different?
Vegan Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 is found almost exclusively in animal products, meaning that the vitamin D3 found in supplements is usually obtained from raw materials such as sheep's wool, fish oil and shellfish. However, years of research have recently led to the discovery of a purely plant-based source of vitamin D3, meaning we can now offer entirely natural and vegan vitamin D3 products.
All of our vitamin D3 oils contain a high-quality premium vitamin D3 as the active ingredient, which has been specially produced for us without any hidden additives—only with MCT oil from coconut and natural vitamin E. The active ingredient is characterised by its purity and guaranteed vitamin D3 content. D3 active ingredients very often contain a whole range of additives, some of which do not have to be declared, such as synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils and maltodextrin.
Our original K2VITAL® Vitamin K2 is one of the few active ingredients on the market that can guarantee a content of at least 99.7% of the highly effective all-trans MK-7 for the stated Vitamin K2 content.
MCT Oil Base for Optimal Protection & Enhanced Absorption
Vitamins D and K2 are both fat-soluble vitamins that can only be absorbed by the body when combined with fats. Sunday Natural Vitamin D3 + K2 is dissolved in high-quality MCT oil for optimal bioavailability and can therefore be directly utilised by the body. In contrast to capsules and tablets that must first be digested in order for their active ingredients to be released, vitamins D3 and K2 combined with oil are readily available and can be optimally absorbed. Our MCT coconut oil is completely free from additives and the medium-chain fatty acids in the carrier oil constitute valuable nutrients themselves.
Oils are easy to use, and are therefore suitable for those who have difficulty swallowing capsules and tablets. All our oils come in amber glass bottles with a high-quality glass dropper. Vitamin D
Vitamin D3 occurs in nature almost exclusively in animal sources and particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi contain only very small amounts of the much less effective vitamin D2.
Vitamin D plays a very important role. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone.
In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.
Vitamin D and vitamin K2 are cofactors in the regulation of calcium metabolism.Together, the two vitamins control the formation and breakdown of bone cells and important transport molecules that ensure the correct utilisation of calcium. Sunday Natural Vitamin D3 and K2 MK7 combines the two nutrients in a ratio that ensures optimal synergy.
Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

It is believed that only the trans forms can be utilised by the body.

Daily Requirements
Vitamin D
The National Health Service (NHS) recommends a daily intake of 10μg of vitamin D for those 1 year of age and older, inclusive of those pregnant, breastfeeding and at risk of vitamin D deficiency. The NHS recommends a daily intake of 8.5-10μg of vitamin D for babies up to the age of 1 year. However, it is important to note that individual vitamin D needs may vary according to geographic location (sun exposure), dietary habits, genetics and other factors.
Vitamin K2
The National Health Service (NHS) does not currently have any published recommendations regarding daily intake of vitamin K.
