
Adaptogens
Adaptogens are biologically active phytochemicals that provide the plant itself with enhanced adaptability. The term is derived from the Latin word “adaptare”, meaning “to adapt”. Many of these phytochemicals have been known in traditional herbalism worldwide for many decades.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), also known as sleeping berry or Indian ginseng, is native to the arid regions of India. The root, containing withanolides, has been used for over 1000 years.
Cordyceps
Cordyceps originally grew in the high plateaus of Tibet at altitudes of over 3000m. It was discovered by yak herders, who observed an extraordinary vitality and resilience in the animals that consumed the mushrooms while grazing. For almost 1500 years, cordyceps has held a place in Chinese tradition.
Ginseng
Ginseng is a powerful root that has been used in its native regions of China, Korea, Siberia and North America for at least 4000 years. In addition to genuine Korean red and white Panax ginseng, there are other well-known species, such as Siberian and American ginseng.
Reishi
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), known in Chinese as Ling Zhi, translates as the "divine mushroom of immortality" and has a tradition stretching back millennia as a functional mushroom in China.
