How are we different?
Our calcium is obtained from the sustainable extraction of calcified Atlantic Lithothamnium red algae. Due to its organic structure, our phytocalcium has particularly good bioavailability.
Atlantic Lithothamnium red algae has an exceptionally high concentration of naturally bound calcium (32%). The calcium is present in the form of calcium carbonate and is embedded in a mineral complex with magnesium. During its growth, the algae absorb these from the seawater and form their cell structures. After dying, the algae body calcifies into a finely porous, skeleton-like structure and sediments separately from the younger algae on the seabed of the Atlantic Ocean. In various locations, these sediments can eventually be sustainably harvested.
Our phyto-calcium consists of 100% natural calcified Lithothamnium calcareum from Iceland, which is harvested, cleaned and milled according to HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 standards, ensuring processing with minimal heavy metal and microbiological values, resulting in a red algae powder of maximum purity and compatibility. As a result, the heavy metal values, despite the origin from the seabed, are significantly below the European limits.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Calcium
Calcium exists in greater quantities than any other mineral in the human body. 99% of bodily calcium is located in the bones and teeth, where it provides structural stability and strength. Additionally, calcium plays a role in various cellular processes, including energy production, blood clotting, signal transmission between nerve cells and the excitation of muscles and nerves.
Plant-Based Calcium Carbonate with High Bioavailability
The plant-based calcium found in calcified Lithothamnium red algae is organically formed calcium carbonate, which differs fundamentally in form and fine structure from calcium carbonate from inorganic sources such as limestone. Unlike limestone, algae calcium is finely porous, which increases the surface area and thus the solubility and bioavailability of the calcium carbonate.
Phytocalcium from Red Algae
In addition to highly bioavailable calcium, Lithothamnium red algae naturally contains a range of other minerals and trace elements absorbed from seawater. Magnesium is present in particularly significant quantities.

Dosage
Directions
Take 4 capsules (250mg calcium per capsule) per day with 200ml water before a meal.
Contraindications
Due to the naturally fluctuating iodine content, this product is not suitable for individuals with thyroid disorders.
