How are we different?

Our Collagen Boost Berry Flavour contains the vegetarian premium collagen Ovoderm® plus vitamin C to support collagen production and other nutrients such as silica, biotin and selenium for the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails. This premium formula is rounded off with vegan hyaluronic acid.

We use hand-selected active ingredients from production: vitamin C as the special active ingredient PureWay-C® coated with bioflavonoids and plant-derived fatty acids for improved bioavailability, selenium as pure sodium selenite, silica from bamboo shoot extract, bioactive D-biotin and 100% vegan hyaluronic acid produced by fermentation. Our Collagen Boost Berry Flavour also contains natural vitamin C from acerola cherries and the enzyme bromelain from hand-harvested Indian pineapple fruit stems (Ananas comosus). This raw material has a high enzyme activity of at least 6000 FIP U (Fédération Internationale Pharmaceutique Unit) per gram or 3000 GDU (Gelatin Digesting Units) per gram.

Ovoderm®
We have opted for 100% vegetarian collagen from the original branded raw material Ovoderm®. This special active ingredient provides a collagen complex in combination with elastin, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and other glycosaminoglycans. This complex offers an advantage over many other animal-based collagen products on the market as it significantly reduces the amount required.

The Ovoderm® collagen complex is extracted from inner eggshell membranes using a patented manufacturing process. This membrane is particularly rich in structural proteins and other nutrients that give the membrane its characteristic strength and elasticity. The patented extraction process results in an exceptionally high content of over 90% total protein with at least 22% collagen (types I, V and X) and 25% elastin. Other components of the complex include 3% hyaluronic acid, 2% glucosamine and 2% other glycosaminoglycans.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is available in different particle sizes, which are characterised by the molecular weight. Because of its high molecular weight, hyaluronic acid is particularly efficient at binding water and and retaining moisture. Hyaluronic acid in the medium or even low and nano ranges occurs organically and only as a product of degradation. Our highly pure hyaluronic acid has a medium molecular weight of 800–1300 kilodaltons and does not contain micro- or nano-particles. It is 100% plant-based, vegan and produced by fermentation.

Our Collagen Boost Berry Flavour is rounded off with the functional sugar tagatose, organic baobab fruit powder, beetroot powder and purely natural blackberry flavouring. We specifically use the functional sugar D-tagatose from natural gum arabic from the acacia tree and has a purity of at least 98.0%. Our gently dried and finely ground beetroot powder not only provides the pleasant purple colour, but is also rich in fibre and bioactives and contains at least 4% nitrate and 0.3% betanin. For production reasons, 5% maltodextrin is the only carrier. Our organic baobab fruit powder comes from the fruit of the baobab tree.

We use light-protected and environmentally friendly amber glass instead of plastic for the packaging.

Effects

Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, comprising more than 30% of the total weight of all the body's proteins. As a structural protein, it plays a vital role in conferring elasticity and strength to various tissues, including cartilage, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue, skeletal muscles, blood vessels, skin, bones and teeth. During collagen synthesis, amino acids are strung together to form a polypeptide chain, a process which is assisted by essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Through juxtaposition and cross-linking, thicker collagen fibres can be formed. The specific type of collagen present in a particular tissue depends on the type of tissue itself.

Type I: 90% of the collagen in the human body; especially in skin, bones, tendons and cartilage
Type V: intercellular junctions of the epidermis and dermis
Type X: in cartilage chondrocytes

Elastin

Like collagen, elastin is a structural protein. While collagen primarily imparts strength, elastin, as its name implies, possesses elasticity.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid, also called hyaluronan, is a long-chain polysaccharide with a high water-binding capacity and high structure viscosity (plasticity), which maintains the elasticity of the skin and connective tissues. At the same time, it is a significant component of the joint fluid, the tear film and the vitreous body of the eye.

According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):

Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of the skin, cartilage, bones, gums and teeth and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Dosage

Directions

Stir 3g (3 measuring spoons) of powder, preferably into water, daily.
