How are we different?

Our trusted extract of the Moldavian dragonhead plant (Dracocephalum moldavica) comes from authentic DracoBelle™ Nu. The extraction process focuses on the aerial parts of the plant, encompassing the flowers, leaves and stems, grown without the use of plant protection products. They undergo gentle extraction using pure water and food-grade ethanol (alcohol) to create a pure plant extract with an impressive concentration of flavonoid glucuronides, including apigenin glucuronide and luteolin glucuronide. For convenience, the liquid extract is applied onto high-quality isomalt, serving as a carrier substance for encapsulation.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Dragonhead

Moldavian dragonhead (Dracocephalum moldavica), also known as Turkish dragonhead, is a member of the mint family, Lamiaceae. Its natural habitat spans from Iran to East Asia, with some occurrences now observed in northern and eastern Europe. Due to its resemblance to lemon balm, dragonhead is also commonly referred to as Turkish balm. Indeed, dragonhead has a remarkable lemon balm-like aroma, making it a popular addition to tea blends and refreshing beverages. The flavonoid glucuronides present in dragonhead, such as apigenin glucuronide and luteolin glucuronide, have garnered significant attention in numerous research studies.
