Current research shows that iron bisglycinate exhibits the highest bioavailability of all forms of iron. In this compound, the iron is bound to L-glycine, an amino acid which is easily absorbed by the body. Glycine occurs naturally in nuts, soybeans and lentils but unfortunately cannot be isolated from these sources in large quantities. Our glycine is therefore included here in the form of an ultra-pure, pharmaceutical grade active ingredient. For the iron bisglycinate, we chose an ultra-pure synthetic iron bisglycinate manufactured in Germany. Our high-dose iron is therefore not only extremely well tolerated but also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Moreover, the addition of vitamin C to our formulation serves to increase iron absorption. Our highly purified vitamin C is obtained from non-GMO maize through a special manufacturing process, which removes any trace of maize, and has an almost 100% (min. 99.8%) concentration level.
The raw materials are manufactured according to the highest purity and quality standards in Germany and the USA.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass jars.
