How are we different?
Magnesium bisglycinate is fundamentally produced from magnesium oxide and the vegan amino acid glycine. To create the desired compound, two glycinate ions are brought to reaction with a doubly positively charged magnesium ion. Citric acid is used as part of the manufacturing process to optimise this chelation process, adjust the pH value, and stabilise the magnesium ions, which ensures the high bioavailability and purity of the final product.
The common market standard is to use a large proportion of magnesium oxide in this process, meaning a certain amount of this raw material remains in the final product. Depending on the degree of processing, this can result in qualities with a magnesium content between approximately 10% and 20%. In contrast, our pure magnesium glycinate raw material, at a 10% magnesium content, consists of 100% magnesium glycinate and contains no residual magnesium oxide. Due to the production process, up to 10% citric acid may remain in the raw material.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG.We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.

Effects
Magnesium glycinate
Magnesium glycinate (as magnesium bisglycinate) contributes to healthy protein synthesis, normal functioning of the nervous system and muscles, and normal mental function. Magnesium is present in a chelate complex bound to the amino acid glycine. In this molecular structure, magnesium cannot form any undesirable compounds with other nutrients, so that each nutrient can have its full effect.

Directions
Take 2 capsules daily spread over the day with 200ml of water.
Note: Spreading the dosage out across the day can improve absorption, since only a limited amount of magnesium can be absorbed at a time. Ideal intake times for magnesium include the morning just after waking, before lunch or after sports and in the evening before sleeping. Taking magnesium on an empty stomach or 30 minutes before a meal can improve absorption.
Daily Requirements
Recommendations of the German Nutrition Society (DGE):
The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily intake of between 300-400mg of magnesium (NRV: 375mg). However, individual magnesium needs may vary according to biochemical factors, and can be significantly increased during stressful periods.
Note: According to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), magnesium intake through supplements should not exceed a maximum daily amount of 250mg of magnesium in food supplements in order to avoid a laxative effect (mild diarrhoea). The maximum amount applies to persons aged four years and older. For infants under four years of age, there is no such guidance relating to a daily maximum due to lack of data.
The BfR recommends that the daily dose be divided into at least two separate doses per day. This is because scientific data shows that magnesium tolerability is increased when intake is spread between two or more portions per day.
