How are we different?
Most vitamin D tablets on the market contain a large number of unnecessary additives. These are already included as excipients in the active ingredient or are added as fillers, lubricants and flow agents such as magnesium stearate, or flavourings and colourings. We therefore have our tablets produced especially for us according to our own manufacturing process. For optimal absorption and bioavailability, we also use vitamin D3 dissolved in coconut-based MCT oil, which allows the fat-soluble vitamin D to be absorbed in the best possible way. We are confident that this enables us to offer exceptionally high-quality and pure vitamin D tablets.
Additives that are already included in the active ingredient do not have to be declared on the label by law. Most vitamin D tablets therefore contain hidden synthetic vitamin E, ascorbyl palmitate, silicon dioxide, modified starch, sucrose, denatured vegetable oils and maltodextrin. As none of the vitamin D active ingredients known to us on the market could meet our purity standards, we use an exceptionally pure custom-made vitamin D active ingredient that is especially made for us according to our exact specifications, without the usual hidden additives.
In order to achieve an absolutely even distribution of vitamin D3 in the active ingredient powder and thus an exact dosage of the tablets, a carrier must be used. We use only 100% nanoparticle-free microcrystalline cellulose, whereas commercially available microcrystalline cellulose may contain up to 10% nanoparticles without declaration.
As a fat-soluble vitamin, vitamin D can only be absorbed together with oils. Our tablets therefore contain high-quality MCT oil from coconut in powder form for optimal absorption. Natural vitamin E protects the active ingredient from oxidation, allowing for a prolonged shelf life.
The only other ingredient we use for our vitamin D tablets is a pure natural filler for pressing: premium acacia fibre (gum arabic) from sustainable cultivation without plant protection products. In contrast to the usual synthetic fillers, we use a natural substance from sustainable cultivation, which is also fibre-rich. Our acacia fibre comes from climate-neutral, resource-saving and fair cultivation, taking into account the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D3 naturally occurs almost exclusively in animal sources, particularly in fish, dairy products, eggs and meat. Plants, such as lichens and various fungi, contain only very small amounts of the much less effective form of vitamin D2.
Vitamin D plays a very important role in the body. It is one of the few vitamins that is not absorbed directly from food, but rather produced by skin cells from sunlight. It is not a vitamin in the traditional sense of the word, but rather a pro-hormone. In contrast to many other vitamins, vitamin D is converted into an important hormone which regulates cell functioning and bodily processes. Almost all bodily cells have special receptors for the vitamin D hormone that are dependent on sufficient supply.
Vitamin D is still being intensively researched. New mechanisms of action of this fascinating vitamin are discovered almost every year. So far, the following statements on vitamin D have been released by the EU (EFSA):

Vitamin D
The National Health Service (NHS) recommends a daily intake of 10μg of vitamin D for those 1 year of age and older, inclusive of those pregnant, breastfeeding and at risk of vitamin D deficiency. The NHS recommends a daily intake of 8.5-10μg of vitamin D for babies up to the age of 1 year. However, it is important to note that individual vitamin D needs may vary according to geographic location (sun exposure), dietary habits, genetics and other factors.
