How are we different?
CDP-choline is a form of choline that occurs naturally in the body. We use a pure CDP-choline (citicoline) with a pure choline content of a full 18%. The raw material does not contain any animal ingredients.
The only other ingredient we use is pure natural premium gum arabic grown without pesticides. In contrast to the usual synthetic filler microcrystalline cellulose with nanoparticles, we use a natural, high-fibre foodstuff as a filler. Our gum arabic comes from climate-neutral, sustainable, resource-conserving and fair cultivation.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Choline
Choline was long counted among the B vitamins as B4. Today, it is considered a semi-essential vitaminoid, since the body can cover part of the requirement through self-synthesis from glutamine and ornithine.
Choline plays an important role in a number of bodily functions. In the fat metabolism of the liver, it supports its enzyme system and is an important component of bile secretion. Choline furthermore has an important transport function in fat metabolism: as a component of VLDL (Very Low Density Lipoproteins), it transports fat and cholesterol from the liver to other bodily tissues that need these compounds. Choline also plays a role as a methyl group donor. Just like betaine, vitamin-B12, folate and S-adenosylmethionine, it helps to regulate homocysteine levels.
