How are we different?

Our innovative SunGlow® Luxe Collagen Powder is a next-generation, 5-fold optimised collagen based on the strictly controlled branded raw material SunColl® and provides collagen hydrolysate (produced from bovine collagen types I and III). These are the most common forms of collagen found in human skin and connective tissue.

The special innovation lies in the uniquely small size: the average molecular weight is reduced to only 500 daltons by gentle, purely enzymatic processes and filtration. This is smaller than conventional collagen products, which often have 2000–4000 daltons or more.
At only 500 daltons, the collagen particles are present as tripeptides (over 80% tripeptides), which is the ideal particle size for collagen. It is therefore practically "pre-digested" and allows the body to absorb it immediately. This results in optimal bioavailability and strong signalling, which is why a significantly smaller portion is recommended: only 2g (4 capsules) per day instead of 15g or more.

Premium Raw Material & Highest Purity

This high-quality collagen hydrolysate is produced according to the strict standards of the SunColl® brand: it is derived exclusively from cattle raised according to high standards of welfare (i.e., access to open pastures, fresh grass and water), ensuring the highest quality of the raw material. From supply to final product, each step is controlled and managed with a strict reporting and risk assessment system.

The entire production process is gentle and completely enzymatic, avoiding the use of any solvents apart from water. The resulting collagen peptides are then processed by ion exchange to ensure a particularly high purity. The collagen is free from antibiotic and hormone residues as well as any additives such as preservatives, sweeteners or flavourings.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We use environmentally friendly amber glass jars for the packaging of this product.

Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, accounting for over 30% of total protein. It is a structural protein.

Synthesis & Metabolism

The body continuously produces collagen in a complex, nutrient-dependent process known as biosynthesis. During this process, individual amino acids are linked together to form long polypeptide chains. The unique feature of collagen is its distinctive structure: the chains are made up of repeating tripeptide sequences (units of three) of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Three of these chains then twist together to form an extremely strong structure. Vitamin C is required as an essential cofactor for this stable cross-linking.

Collagen Types

More than 28 different types of collagen have been identified in the human body, with types I and III being the most prominent:

  • Collagen Type I: This type makes up the largest proportion (about 90%). It forms thick, fibrous bundles and is the main component of the matrix in skin, bones, tendons, ligaments and the cornea of the eye.
  • Collagen Type II: This type forms the essential structural framework in the hyaline cartilage of the joints.
  • Collagen Type III: This type forms finer, reticular (net-like) fibres. It is physiologically found mainly in elastic tissues such as the skin, the walls of blood vessels and internal organs. It often occurs together with type I.
  • Specialised Types: In addition, types such as type V (e.g., in hair) or type X (in bone tissue) play a complementary role in the complex interaction of the matrix.
