Our Omega-3 complex delivers a 100% natural and purely plant-based combination of all essential Omega-3 fatty acids and a broad spectrum of other valuable fatty acids and plant compounds. It provides the active Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, the key precursor alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and the healthy Omega-6 fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) through a natural blend of premium plant oils from microalgae, flaxseed, chia seed, moringa, sea buckthorn, borage and coconut MCT oil.
At the core of the complex is a high-strength, 100% vegan blend of bioactive Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA derived from algae. To achieve comparable concentrations, conventional Omega-3 supplements mostly use fish oil as a base. However, many fish species exhibit high levels of heavy metal contamination, and fish oil is also highly questionable from both an ethical and ecological perspective.
We therefore use 100% vegan, purely plant-based Omega-3 from natural algae oil. The algae are cultivated in closed fermentation systems that do not disrupt the sensitive marine ecosystem. Consequently, our Omega-3 has no negative impact on fish stocks or natural food sources. Microalgae are not only an ethical and sustainable source of Omega-3 fatty acids; they also contain many other valuable plant compounds and, unlike fish, show no measurable contamination from environmental toxins.
Our Omega-3 is derived from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp., which boasts the highest plant-based DHA content worldwide. In contrast to other vegan Omega-3 products, this algae directly provides the bioactive Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, rather than just the precursor ALA as is the case with flaxseed oil, for example. Furthermore, the Omega-3 fatty acids are directly available in the highly bioavailable, natural triglyceride form. The vast majority of concentrated fish oil products, on the other hand, consist of ethyl ester concentrates, which are not absorbed by the body nearly as well. Omega-3 fatty acids in triglyceride form show 50% to 300% better absorption than the ethyl ester form.
For standardisation purposes, small amounts of a premium, high-oleic sunflower oil are added. This high oleic acid content, together with the addition of a rosemary extract, fat-soluble vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) and mixed tocopherols (vitamin E), ensures a lower susceptibility to oxidation and thus a longer shelf life for the sensitive fatty acids. The very low oxidation level of the oil (Totox value: 2 in the raw material, 11.64 in the final product) proves the freshness of the algae oil. The two active Omega-3 fatty acids are embedded in a rich matrix of the finest plant oils. These provide additional Omega-3 fatty acids such as the important precursor ALA, alongside the healthy Omega-6 fatty acid GLA and numerous other valuable fatty acids. Our Omega-3 complex thus provides an exceptionally broad spectrum of fatty acids sourced from 100% natural foods.
For the capsule shells, we use globally unique vegan softgels made from tapioca starch (cassava root), produced exclusively for us without hidden additives such as PEG or carrageenan. For packaging, we use light-protecting amber glass instead of plastic.
