How are we different?

Our chasteberry extract (Vitex agnus-castus L., also known as monk's pepper) is obtained exclusively from the flowers of the shrub. Extraction is carried out using only food-grade water and ethanol, so that the valuable ingredients never come into contact with other solvents or extraction agents such as acetone or methanol. The finished, gently dried extract contains a guaranteed 5% of the valuable flavonoid vitexin.

The only other ingredient we use is premium gum arabic grown without plant protection products as a purely natural filler. In contrast to the usual synthetic filler microcrystalline cellulose with nanoparticles, we use a natural, high-fibre foodstuff as a filler. Our gum arabic comes from climate-neutral, sustainable, resource-conserving and fair cultivation.

For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.

Monk's Pepper

Chasteberry (Vitex agnus-castus L.), also known as monk's pepper, belongs to the genus Vitex and thus to the Verbena family. The shrub, which can grow up to 5m high, grows throughout the Mediterranean region as far as the Crimea and is usually found on embankments or near bodies of water. The name "pepper" comes from the fruits, which look like peppers and taste spicy. The name "monk" is presumably based on the fact that the plant was considered to have a lust-reducing effect in the Middle Ages. The Latin name Agnus castus has a similar meaning and means "chaste lamb."

Directions

Take 1 capsule daily with a meal and 200ml water.

Not suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Not recommended for children.
