Our Omega-3 Complex provides a 100% natural and purely plant-based combination of all important omega-3 fatty acids and a broad spectrum of other valuable fatty acids and phytochemicals. It supplies the active omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, the central precursor alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and the healthy omega-6 fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) as a natural blend of high-quality plant oils from microalgae, linseed, chia seeds, moringa, sea buckthorn, borage and coconut-based MCT oil.
The core of the complex is a high-dose and 100% vegan blend of the bioactive omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA from algae. To achieve comparable concentrations, conventional omega-3 supplements usually use fish oil as a base. However, many fish species show significant levels of heavy metal contamination, and from an ethical and ecological point of view, fish oil is highly unsustainable.
We therefore use 100% vegan, purely plant-based omega-3 from natural algae oil. Microalgae are not only an ethical and sustainable source of omega-3 fatty acids, they also contain many other valuable phytochemicals and, unlike fish, show no measurable contamination with environmental toxins. Our omega-3 is obtained from the alga Schizochytrium sp., which has the world's highest plant-based DHA content. In contrast to other vegan omega-3 products, this alga directly supplies the bioactive omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, and not just the precursor ALA, as is the case with linseed oil, for example.
In addition, the omega-3 fatty acids are present directly in the highly bioavailable, natural triglyceride form. The vast majority of concentrated fish oil products, on the other hand, consist of ethyl ester concentrates, which are not absorbed nearly as well by the body. Omega-3 fatty acids as triglycerides show a 50% to 300% better absorption than the ethyl ester form.
The very low oxidation level of the oil (Totox value: 2 in the raw material, 11.64 in the final product) proves the freshness of the algae oil. The corresponding lab test can be viewed under "Lab Tests" further down.
The algae are cultivated in sustainable aquaculture systems that do not disturb the sensitive ecosystem of the sea. Our Omega-3 therefore has no negative impact on fish stocks or natural food sources. The algae oil also has an excellent ecological balance, as many tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere are sequestered during the production process.
The two active omega-3 fatty acids are embedded in a rich matrix of the highest quality plant oils. They supply other omega-3 fatty acids such as the important precursor ALA, but also the healthy omega-6 fatty acid GLA and numerous other valuable fatty acids. Our Omega-3 Complex thus provides an extremely broad spectrum of fatty acids from 100% natural food sources.
For our capsule shells, we use unique vegan softgel capsules made from tapioca starch (cassava root), which are produced exclusively for us without hidden additives such as PEG and carrageenan. For our packaging, we use light-protective amber glass instead of plastic.
