How are we different?

Our Skin Barrier Complex is a specially formulated blend for a healthy, radiant complexion and a strengthened skin barrier. It contains the patented wheat lipid extract Lipowheat™ combined with vitamin A and high-quality MCT oil.

The patented special ingredient Lipowheat™ consists of an organic wheat lipid extract (Triticum vulgare/aestivum), organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus) and organic rosemary leaf extract (Rosmarinus officinalis). Each capsule contains a full 7mg of glucosylceramides and ceramides. Ceramides are the skin's own fats, forming a foundational component of the skin barrier which protects the skin from drying out and from external germs and bacteria.

The blend is combined with vitamin A derived from natural sunflower oil, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and a normal immune system.

MCT Coconut Oil for Optimal Absorption

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and can only be absorbed by the body together with fats. For the carrier oil in our Skin Barrier Complex, we have selected a particularly high-quality MCT coconut oil produced in the Netherlands because it hardly breaks down the fat-soluble vitamins, making it the best option for optimum active ingredient protection. The medium-chain fatty acids of the carrier oil themselves also represent a valuable nutrient. The manufacturer of our coconut MCT oil can confirm that no monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts.

Effects

Ceramides:

Ceramides are a type of lipid (fat) that form the component of the outermost layer of the skin (epidermis, or more precisely, the stratum corneum). Ceramides are crucial for maintaining the skin barrier, as they hold the cells of the epidermis together, thus protecting the skin from drying out and from external germs and bacteria.

Vitamin A:

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin which controls several important functions in the body. While it's well-known for its importance in maintaining good vision, vitamin A also has numerous other benefits: it contributes to the normal function of skin and mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, intestines and reproductive organs, supports the immune system and works synergistically with iron in the synthesis of red blood cells.
