Our original Niagen® nicotinamide riboside is one of the most effective precursors of the active coenzyme NAD+ and is therefore particularly suitable for supporting the formation of this key molecule. Since NAD+ cannot pass through the gastrointestinal tract intact, nicotinamide riboside is instead absorbed and then metabolised to active NAD+. With Niagen®, we use a patented and particularly effective branded active ingredient that has been proven to effectively lead to the formation of NAD+.
Niagen® 300 is supplemented with nicotinamide (also known as niacinamide, another form of vitamin B3). In contrast to the most common form of vitamin B3 (i.e., nicotinic acid or niacin), taking high-dose nicotinamide only leads to the so-called "niacin flush," a dilation of the blood vessels that leads to tingling and reddening of the skin, in a few people with an impaired vitamin B3 metabolism. We use a particularly pure, high-quality premium raw material for our nicotinamide.
The only other ingredient is premium gum arabic, cultivated without the use of plant protection products. In contrast to microcrystalline cellulose, a widely used synthetic filler often mixed with nanoparticles, gum arabic is a natural, fibre-rich food. Our fair trade gum arabic is climate neutral and is sustainably cultivated to conserve resources.
For the capsule shells we use custom-made HPMC capsules that, unlike most other HPMC and pullulan capsules on the market, are 100% free from controversial additives such as carrageenans and PEG. We then package this product in environmentally friendly amber glass.
