How are we different?

We use 100% vegan, plant-based omega-3 from natural algae oil. Microalgae are not only an ethical and reliable source of omega-3 fatty acids, but they also contain many other valuable phytochemicals. The low oxidation level of the oil (Totox value: 7.5) demonstrates the freshness of the algae oil. The corresponding laboratory test can be viewed under "Lab Tests" further below.

Our omega-3 is obtained from the algae Schizochytrium sp., which has the highest plant-based DHA content in the world. Unlike other vegan omega-3 products, this algae directly provides the bioactive omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA and not just the inactive precursor alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), as is the case with linseed oil, for example. To standardise the oil, small amounts of a high-quality, particularly oleic acid-rich sunflower oil are added. The high oleic acid content, together with the addition of a rosemary extract, fat-soluble vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) and mixed tocopherols (vitamin E), ensures lower oxidation susceptibility and thus a longer shelf life of the sensitive fatty acids. The algae are cultivated in closed fermentation systems that do not disturb the sensitive marine ecosystem. Our omega-3 therefore has no negative impact on fish stocks or natural food sources.

Our Sunferol® D3 Vegan is obtained from a completely plant-based source (pine trees). Thanks to the complex special production, our vitamin D3 is particularly pure. It is produced for us by a specialised manufacturer in a time-consuming process and is completely free from the usual hidden additives.

Our original Sunquinone® K2 is a branded active ingredient from the EU with a uniquely high all-trans MK-7 content in the raw material of about 99.8%. To achieve the highest possible purity compared to conventional vitamin K2, our raw material undergoes an additional, intensive purification step. This step removes any residues and guarantees an absolutely pure vitamin K2 raw material with the highest possible all-trans content.

Synthetic vitamin E has poorer bioavailability, is partially ineffective and is even suspected of being harmful to health. Our high-dose vitamin E complex therefore contains only natural vitamin E with 90–99% D-alpha-tocopherol and, unlike the widely used synthetic vitamin E preparations, is 100% free from hidden additives. The vitamin E is extracted from sunflower seeds and dissolved in sunflower oil, making it particularly pure and highly bioactive.

For the capsule shells, we use our unique vegan softgel capsules, which are made from tapioca starch (cassava root), glycerol and water and are produced exclusively for us without hidden additives such as gelatine, PEG and carrageenan. We package this product in amber glass jars instead of plastic to protect the ingredients from light.

Our commitment to uncompromising quality & purity:

  • Premium active ingredients as pure isolates & directly sourced from leading global producers
  • All formulations crafted exclusively from selected individual raw materials
  • Our commitment: zero unnecessary additives, technical excipients or chemical extraction agents
  • Voluntary declaration of all non-mandatory ingredients
  • Where additives are necessary, preference is given to valuable natural ingredients
  • Capsule shells entirely free from carrageenan & PEG
  • Systematic quality testing conducted by independent laboratories
  • Packaged in amber glass or premium aroma-protective zipper bags designed to protect against oxidation & contaminants
  • All products entirely free from magnesium stearate, nanoparticles (without legal exceptions), GMOs, artificial colours & flavours, titanium dioxide
  • Added sugar & sweeteners: used only where required for functional or product-specific reasons

Effects

Omega-3 fatty acids are a special category of polyunsaturated fatty acids. They form an integral part of bodily cell membranes and are a precursor of important tissue hormones. Eicosanoid tissue hormones formed from omega-3 fatty acids influence several important bodily functions including brain and heart functioning.

The biologically active omega-3 fatty acids are docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). The EFSA has so far approved the following statements:

DHA & EPA contribute to:

  • The maintenance of normal cardiac function

DHA contributes to:

  • The maintenance of normal brain function
  • The maintenance of normal vision

Vitamin D & Vitamin K2

Vitamin D and vitamin K2 are cofactors in the regulation of calcium metabolism. If a vitamin K2 deficiency exists while taking vitamin D3, there is a risk of excessive calcium storage in vessels and organs (risk of calcification, arteriosclerosis, kidney stones, etc.). Our vitamin D3 and K2 MK-7 combines the two nutrients in a ratio that ensures an optimal interaction.

Vitamin D contributes to:

  • Normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
  • Normal calcium levels in the blood
  • The maintenance of bones
  • The maintenance of normal muscle function
  • The maintenance of healthy teeth
  • Normal function of the immune system
  • Cell division

Vitamin K

Currently, almost all authorities do not consider vitamin K2 separately, but all K vitamins together. Accordingly, the statements released for vitamin K1 currently apply to vitamin K2.

Vitamin K contributes to:

  • Normal blood clotting
  • The maintenance of normal bones

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a complex of 8 different compounds, containing 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols, each with the prefix alpha, beta, gamma or delta and with their own specific properties. All components of vitamin E work synergistically. The 4 tocopherols included ensure optimal bioavailability and bioactivity.

Vitamin E contributes to:

  • The protection of cells from oxidative stress

TOTOX Value

One of the key indicators of high quality omega-3 oils is their degree of freshness. Due to their structure, omega-3 fatty acids are naturally extremely reactive and susceptible to oxidation processes (autoxidation), which can cause them to quickly deteriorate. When omega-3 fatty acids are oxidised, primarily fatty acid peroxides are formed, which then react or are broken down into secondary oxidation products such as aldehydes (malondialdehyde, 4-hydroxyhexenal). Therefore, it is essential to thoroughly analyse oxidative by-products in order to ensure the quality of omega-3 products.

To measure the oxidation of omega-3 oils, 3 main values are used: peroxide number (POZ), p-anisidine number and the TOTOX value, which is calculated using the anisidine and peroxide numbers (TOTOX value = p-anisidine number + (2x peroxide number)).

The TOTOX value (TOTal OXidation) is an internationally recognised indicator that assesses the total oxidation value (oxidation of the fatty acids) and provides a clear overall picture of the freshness of oils. The lower the TOTOX value, the fresher the oil. The anisidine number (AnZ) is a measure of the aldehyde formation during the oxidation of fats, which reveals a lot about how an oil has been processed and stored. The peroxide number (POZ) measures the current oxidation.

Our omega-3 products are continuously checked for their anisidine and peroxide values. Unlike other products on the market, we analyse not only the raw material, but also the end product after it has been manufactured. During production, we take the greatest possible care to avoid contact with oxygen as much as possible in order to prevent oxidation processes. We pay particular attention to the freshness of our raw materials and the correct storage of the end product. Long storage times are avoided.

According to the official bodies, IFOS, IKOS, GOED and GMBI, the following limits must not be exceeded:
- Peroxide value (PV): max. 5 mEq/kg
- Anisidine value (AV): max. 20
- TOTOX value: max. 26

A TOTOX value of over 26 indicates that the omega-3 oil is spoiled and should not be consumed. A TOTOX value less than 20 is a sign of a fresh and high-quality oil. Ideally, an omega-3 product should be stored away from light, in the bottom of the refrigerator. Low temperatures significantly slow down the oxidation processes of the algae oil. This applies both before and especially after opening the package.

If the taste or smell of the algae oil deteriorates within this period, this indicates premature oxidation of the algae oil. This can be caused by improper storage or the pipette coming into contact with the mouth and tongue.

Our products have values well below the recommended limits. You can find the latest laboratory results under the "Laboratory Tests" tab.

Vitamin D & Vitamin K2

Together with vitamin K2, vitamin D ensures the normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus into the intestine and is responsible for incorporating them into the bones. If a vitamin K2 deficiency exists, the calcium may be absorbed but not fully utilised by the body. The consumption of vitamin K together with vitamin D is important, especially when taking high doses of vitamin D.

Vitamin K2 exists in various forms, which have different levels of effectiveness. Vitamin K2 MK-7 is considered by far the most effective form of K2 today. However, since vitamin K2 molecules occur in a variety chemical structures (the so-called cis–trans isomers of vitamin K2), there are considerable differences in efficacy even between different vitamin K2 MK-7 compounds. It is believed that only the trans forms can be utilised by the body.

Product Details

Our in-house production guarantees uncompromising purity and quality. Production, bottling and encapsulation take place in the EU according to our own rigorous specifications and in strict compliance with HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000:2018 standards.

Bespoke liquid formulations, (functional) foods for athletic and daily performance and select exclusive items are produced as high-grade custom preparations by chosen partners who share our commitment to quality, adhering strictly to HACCP, GMP and ISO standards.

In line with our True Clean Label philosophy, we refrain from using artificial additives, colourants and preservatives intended to standardise product appearance. Consequently, formulations containing natural botanical extracts and plant-based raw materials may display subtle batch-to-batch colour variations. These variations stem from natural factors such as harvest timing (seasonal differences between early and late harvests), origin (geographical soil and climate fluctuations) or processing dynamics (variations in particle grind size). Such natural shade shifts may also occur in our plant-based or compressed tablets formulated with premium acacia fibre or nanoparticle-free cellulose and do not constitute a defect in quality.

Laboratory Tests

The purity of our formulas is important to us. This is why we have both our raw ingredients as well as our finished products extensively tested by independent laboratories to confirm purity and active ingredient content. Here, we have provided the results of some of the tests carried out on this product.
